Questions people ask
Do I have to connect a bank account or card?
No. There is no account linking in the app at all. Every entry is one you typed, spoke, or photographed, so nothing reads your balances or statements.
Do I need an account to use it?
No. Install it and write the first line. There is no sign-up and no login.
Where does my data live?
The ledger itself lives on your device and never syncs between devices. The one-line text and receipt photos do go through our server to generative AI, which reads the amount, category, and store and sends only the result back — and a summary of each saved entry is recorded on our server so we can see how the service is doing and improve how it classifies things. No name, email, or account ever goes with it. The privacy policy lists what gets sent.
Can I put several things on one line?
Yes. Write "Bus 2.75 and coffee 4.50" and it becomes two entries, each with its own category.
Can I keep grocery money and fun money separate?
Yes. Make as many ledgers as you want — household spending, travel, a side project — and switch between them from the button at the top. Students often keep one just for spending money.
Is the app itself in English?
Not yet. The app ships in Korean, Japanese, and Traditional Chinese — 한줄가계부, 一行家計簿, and 一行記帳 are all the same app — and an iPhone set to English opens the Korean one. The screens on this page are drawn in English so you can see what each one does. Ledgers are kept in won, yen, or New Taiwan dollars, so the dollar figures on this page are illustrations of how the app reads a line, not screenshots of a US ledger.
